Oddly, today was the first time I drove an MX5. The gearbox is slick, they're nicely balanced and nimble too, you can feel the lack of weight. There's not a huge amount of rear grip so you do have to be careful despite not being particularly powerful. I'd own one for sure, I bet they're great fun on a nice road.
