La composition et l'histoire de cet anime sont assez classiques du genre #Mecha, mais de la même façon que toutes les autres séries de la franchise #Macross, c'est la musique qui donne un nouveau rythme à la fois à la structure externe et visuelle mais aussi aux personnages puisqu'elle motive et booste les pilotes (notamment le protagoniste). Au début, c'est déroutant, ça apporte une touche #Shoujo à un genre qui attire plus le public masculin, ce qui fait que l'on a du mal à cerner quel type d'audience est visé. Mais au fil des épisodes, on se prend au jeu, et même si le côté extrêmement romancé peut ennuyer, l'intrigue simpliste marche grâce à un casting de personnages popularisés. Les robots ont du style, et le dessin est beau. Je recommanderais pour les fans de Mechas autant que pour une première approche du style, aux filles comme aux garçons.
