Lunar is incredibly long, but the whole experience feels like the gift that keeps on giving. The banter between Hiro and Ruby reaches epic hilarious levels right from the get-go. The real highlight of Lunar 2 is the marvelous epilogue, which is literally a second adventure that ties up all the loose ends after the main story. On top of that, the epilogue provides loads of bromide artwork and a juicy hand-drawn animated video player.

I consider this the Disney special edition of...Final Fantasy or something? There's loads of cheesy but endearing ideas. And the difficulty curve gets tough very quickly. Overall, Lunar 2 is the rare overpriced gem that is worth every penny to get the artbook, cheap Luna pendant, the soundtrack CD and the map that comes with the game. It was the original special edition package that served up the goods long before other games did it.
