Too bad that it never got released outside Japan. Kuruin Squash! mixes up the tried-and-tested gameplay from the previous games with new elements, such as on-rail sections, sections where you need to go underwater, levels where you need to cause tornadoes, and all new boss fights. These new elements are kinda hit or miss though. They sometimes distract too much from the main thing. Just like in the two GBA games, you need to steer your Helirin through narrow passages. The Helirin spins around at all times, so avoiding the walls is a challenge. One thing that also annoyed me is the perspective: unlike the previous games, in which you see the level directly from above, the perspective in this game is slightly tilted, making it harder to judge whether you are about to touch a wall or not. The soundtrack is great just as in the previous games, and the cutscenes are cute and colorful. God, I really love these characters. Too bad that this franchise died off after this game. I would love to see a new game with these characters. Or an Anime or something.
