I still don't understand the ending. Pit somehow turns into a man so he can kiss Palutena? That's...awkward.

While this game is quite difficult, and the move-to-one-side-of-the-screen-to-get-to-the-other is dated and overly arcade-y for a NES game, there is a charm to it that keeps you coming back. Partly because of the fun Japanese pastiche of Greek myth imagery, and partly because it's gameplay is a mix of platforming and adventure. A cult game I share a soft spot for. Glad Nintendo resurrected the Kid.

This game definetly isn't perfect. I honestly think it just hooks me in with its presentation of greek mythology and quirky things. Sure it has unbalanced difficulty and it has some cryptic elements to it, however, if you die, it's mostly your fault. This is a game you have to master. If you learn how this game works, you can take this game in the palm of your hands. This is an IP that needs to be focused on as much as Mario, Zelda and Metroid, which in fact, this game combines those three, Pit jumps like Mario, explores like Link and shoots like Samus and Pit is one of my favorite video game protagonists ever. This game has some discouraging flaws, but for some reason it's one of those games I can't get enough of. My favorite NES game

Kid Icarus is an odd game, with odd mechanics, odd enemies and an odd difficulty curve. The final battle, on the other hand, can only be described as anticlimactic.
