Now here's an odd choice. This is a very bog standard stealth first person shooter with its fair share of problems (bugs). But this game is simply fun and tells a damn good James Bond story. Complete with lasers, Japan, space and missiles.

Also, I am referring to the PC version of this game. This game is strange in that the PC version is different than the PS2 and Gamecube version, but contains many of the same levels, models and cutscenes as them.

    Music is simple, but effective

Not counting Time Crisis (which you don't play with a normal controller so I'd say it's different) this was the first FPS I ever owned. I hadn't tried Halo, Half-Life or Bioshock yet so my expectations weren't huge and I was able to get really into it. The story felt like a classic Bond film and the really solid first person shooting interspersed with some nice arcade driving levels was great to me. It was one of my go to multiplayer games for most of the PS2 era, my favourite FPS until Black came out and my favourite multiplayer FPS until I tried the Halo series.
