Why was the damn music so loud on these old films? I can hardly hear them speaking but half my street know I'm watching Indiana Jones.

Editing … Oh but don't modern films do that too? All I remember from the few modern movies I've seen is: *blablablabla....... (then comes the dramatic music moment)… LALALALALALALALALALALALALALA! (dramatic fighting) BOOOM BOOOM! PIEW PIEW! (then talking again).....blablabla * Maybe old movies have soft speech because they were not optimised for the home cinema? But when I watch some vhs tapes on my crt I actually sometimes think wow the sound is actually less spastic than in newer films. But there is definitely something weird going on in the sound and movies. Some movies are attention whores who want to seduce you with sound effects and music and other movies just want you to hear the dialogue and follow the story. Reminds me a bit of how commercials are always way way louder than the program you were watching.

Editing … I've watched tons of movies these last few days and this one was the worst by far. I've got tinnitus from watching it.
