Heroes of the Storm (Originally titled Blizzard DOTA and later changed to Blizzard All-Stars) is a multiplayer online battle arena developed by Blizzard Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and OS X. The game utilizes a combination of heroes from Blizzard's Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft and other franchises and is set in the "Nexus". The game uses both free-to-play and freemium models and is supported by micropayments, which can be used to purchase heroes or visual alterations for the heroes in the game. Blizzard does not call the game a "multiplayer online battle arena" or an "action real-time strategy" because they feel it is something different with a broader playstyle; they refer to it as an online "Hero Brawler". The game entered closed beta on January 13, 2015. The open beta of the game began on May 19, 2015, and the full version of the game was released on June 2, 2015.     Heroes of the Storm is a MOBA with a twist that is both highly accessible to the newcomers, while offering plenty of depth to the veterans of the genre.
    Pros: Fun to play, no fluff, a good number of heroes with vastly different playstyles and builds that fit each hero, mostly well balanced, a good number of arenas with different objectives, promotes and relies on teamplay over individuality, great visuals and sound, matches are usually over within 20 minutes, most matches can be turned around up until the very end, solid tutorial, plenty of ways to test a hero, if a player disconnects a decent AI will replace him/her soon after, daily quests, you're in a game within a minute of picking a hero, Blizzard's level of polish, it's FREE
    Cons: Half of the heroes (and all skins) cost an absurd amount of gold/real world cash, no way to report a player within the game, some heroes are slightly overpowered, while others are underpowered, there's no grid with party members' health

    PREVIEW: Heroes of the Storm mashes characters from Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo into a MOBA-style game. This isn’t just a League of Legends clone, however. Blizzard doesn’t hold any genre conventions sacred, making every match exciting and fresh.
