This was probably a good game, but that "Press X to Jason" is still the funniest meme. I loved the story and the interactions between all the characters. And then Ethan keeps shouting "JASON!" or "SHAUN!"

I'm sorry. I'll finish this someday. It's just...PFFFBT! JASON! JASON! LOLOLOL

I just spent the entire day playing this game and doing almost nothing more. Got a cider, had a fan on the room, was half-naked, didn't even touch the computer the entire time. It was such a relaxing day and it's been a while since I spent a entire day on one game. This is why I value more my university break than I do my job's break, because right now even if I'm not on holiday I have no big responsibility to study or program, I can just do whatever as long as I go to bed in time to wake up tomorrow at a decent time

Editing … I had a chess binge earlier today. It was good. Something clicked. I haven't played chess seriously in years, but now I want to again. I used to play and win thousands of games a year--losing less than ten of them. I even had a chess teacher in high school. Wow. Wow, I got really into chess. I wonder if my poker habit's gonna get that big.

Warren Spector - the guy who created Deus Ex - on Heavy Rain:

“Heavy Rain is an amazing experience. They can tell great stories; better than I can tell in my life as a game developer. But they tell better stories because no player will ever do anything surprising or unaccounted for. They’re basically like five movie scripts all mashed together, and you’re just picking which script you’re telling at any given point in time.”

Editing … Heavy Rain started off well, it's too bad Cage's games are only good up to the halfway mark. He needs an extra writer or a team to prevent Mayan Matrix\Supernatural Detective\Underwater Korean Ghost Base; and hopefully prevent all the shower and rape scenes. Maybe Detroit will be more grounded and just tell his 'emotions' tale without his usual tropes.

Editing … It's been ages but the biggest issue was that originally the game was written with a supernatural base. *SPOILER* The murderer was present during the death of Ethan's son and they formed some spooky connection so that whenever the murderer killed children Ethan would black out, same with the lady I think. A few months from launch they cut out the blackout scenes though and never amended the overall plot, so towards the end it makes no sense when Ethan wakes up holding the little origami crane. This will show you the cut out content https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxpdGB6Gbac

Editing … It's a shame they changed their mind so late in the development because some of the ideas with the blackouts were really cool. I think Detroit might turn out really good now though. It's been in development since the Kara demo and the 'robots have feelings' concept is strong enough on its own that he might not feel the need to run the game into crazy land.

Editing … I think this list of plot holes just about sums it up http://www.gamesradar.com/heavy-rains-big-plot-holes/ Spoiler It really bugs me when it turns out you were playing as the killer during one of their murders as well

Choices, choices, choices...and perma-death! If a character dies by your hands, developer Quantic Dream decided to the route of "Fuck It" and let your character stay dead while the story goes on without that character. There a many, many intense sequences and tough moral calls to make here. I never thought that forgetting what a kid was wearing would devastate me so much, Bravo, Mr. Cage, bravo.

Heavy Rain is unique, not many games play like it; it's playing an actual movie, controlling the characters, making choices; if you die, you are dead with no continues or retry screen, the story moves along with that character dead; this increases the tension and helps you to stay focus. I find things that draws me away from it, but to be fair, I do believe is an excellent movie/game and i'm all for more games like these; hopefully better.

A remarkable game, wait i mean story. It's more like an interactive movie in front on you on your television. Whatever decision you make in the game, have it's consequences. Whether it bites you back in the ass or not it all up to you. The only think i dislike about this game, is when the quick time action started bouncing up and down where it makes it so hard to see and press it in time. But whatever, i guess with the hectic stuff going on.. it really make its logical. On my last words, I would like to ask you.. How far would you go to save your love ones?

I finally got around to playing this, and I'm very disappointed. The art direction is great, and they used some novel ways to interact with the world, but other than that, there isn't much to it. It's overly slow, the characters are bland, and the fucking cyborg FBI agent doesn't fit anything else in the game at all and is really, really stupid. They were clearly trying to be cinematic, but all great films have great editing and pacing. This game lingers on things like your character shaving, showering, looking for teddy bears, and other things that add absolutely nothing but slow the whole thing down. I say this as a guy who likes slow moving artsy movies. Really, this thing is basically a dumbed down, pretentious Shenmue.
