Harvest Moon (牧場物語, Bokujō Monogatari?) is a virtual role playing game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System developed by Amccus. The game first released in Japan in 1996, in North America in 1997, and in Europe in 1998. The European version shipped with language localizations for Germany and France. This is the first game in the long-running series of the same name. The original SNES game follows a young boy charged with maintaining his absent father’s farm, although later releases allow the player to choose a male or female character. In both Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town for Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance and Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life for Nintendo’s GameCube the character is exclusively female.
