"Goof Troop" is an adventure-action classic that can be found in the SNES library. The narrative clearly isn't its strong point: the story is a bit dull, even for Goofy's standards. No, this is all about the gameplay! Which is fun, from start to finish. The minions keep you on your toes and are gradually introduced throughout the game. Most of the time you get rid of them by smashing pots & barrels against their heads. The (later) star-block puzzles are a tough nut to crack for your brain – though, they're also solvable by the trial & error / "just do it" / *somehow* … approach.

2player couch co-op is possible & encouraged. But if you insist, you can play it alone as well, and without blocked paths or any other kind of drawback – it's just more fun with a partner.

The game is short, only five or six stages/levels long, which is a shame. The stage castle reeks of Zelda:ALTTP … "influence". And the music isn't quite memorable either. Apart from that, it's highly recommendable.

You know.... there was a time when video games based on cartoons were good.
