GoldenEye 007
GoldenEye 007 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Rare and based on the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye. It was exclusively released for the Nintendo 64 video game console in Japan on 23 August 1997 and internationally on 25 August 1997. The game features a single-player campaign in which players assume the role of British Secret Intelligence Service agent James Bond as he fights to prevent a criminal syndicate from using a satellite weapon against London to cause a global financial meltdown. The game also includes a split-screen multiplayer mode in which two, three, or four players can compete in different types of deathmatch games. GoldenEye 007 was originally conceived as an on-rails shooter inspired by Sega's Virtua Cop, before being redesigned as a free-roaming shooter. The game received highly positive reviews from the gaming media and sold over eight million copies worldwide, making it the third-best-selling Nintendo 64 game. GoldenEye 007 is considered an important …

Bryan Leontes wrote his opinion about GoldenEye 007Saved!There was a moment in college when I stopped played a four player match of this with my friends, and walked to class. Walking to class, I could hear the music to this game playing out of three or four more dorms as I was walking. This was multiplayer at it's finest, and make first person shooters popular on consoles.

Michael Burton wrote his opinion about GoldenEye 007Saved!Hours and hours of 4 player madness... now that the game is aged it has aged poorly but it set the bar so high for other Shooters it took Halo Combat Evolved to put this game down a notch...
Goldeneye changed FPS and set a new standard for them. -

Capt_ Blakhelm wrote his opinion about GoldenEye 007Saved!I think this is the first FPS I've sunk countless hours into, and unfortunately, I didn't have a ton of friends to play the multiplayer with, which most people will say is the best part. It's thanks to this game that FPS games got a chance to grow on consoles. Images of the game world are burnt into my mind, as I remember being impressed (and amused by the stupidity of) the enemy AI and the objective based gameplay that gave you something to aim for and do besides "shoot everybody in your way to the end". My brother and I spent so much time trying to figure out the objectives and wrestling with the cumbersome controls the game has - thankfully, the game is built around those controls so you can live with the lack of fast aiming when your enemies are taking time to shoot you with fancy animations and genuinely showing pain in reaction to being hit, which you just don't see in much shooters beyond mild flinching and death animations.

In likeflynn wrote his opinion about GoldenEye 007Saved!When I think of "Goldeneye" I always remember the game on the N64, not the movie that it's based on. Goldeneye's single player campaign was more focused on stealth rather than brute force, but the design is clever; it gives you freedom to take on your mission anyway you want; you could just blast your way through killing everything that stands between you and your objective or use more your brains, and trying to avoid detection has much has possible, you really feel like you are James Bond fully immersed into the experience; the multiplayer is amazing, 4 player split-screen is the best ever, with your friends on the couch with "pistols only" and "license to kill" mode. Goldeneye is the best first-person-shooter ever made.

DJ_JJSlider wrote his opinion about GoldenEye 007Saved!Goldeneye set a golden standard for shooters with its awesome spy tools and its mission-based campaign challenges. The movement looks a bit stilted, but the atmosphere is still amazing. I still love all the settings for the intense boss fights. I still wish someone would make a worthy remake of the original game.

Saved!SaiyanMonkeyEditing … I remember being so hyped for 007 Reloaded on the 360, can't think of many other games that disappointed me after such optimism than that.

Aramonde wrote his opinion about GoldenEye 007Saved!The game that made FPS on consoles, now people who didn't play it at the time won't get why it's great (i'm looking at you Klemoib). At the time the controls were fantastic. animations i'd never seen before like the scientists would surrender and you could shoot there butt and they would hold there butt XD And there would be blood were you shot them, i'd never seen that before in a game. And then there's the multiplayer, all my friends and i would play hours upon hours having so much fun. It doesn't look good now but i have so many good memory's playing it and a lot of other gamers do to that's why it popular.
