Mrs Pac-Man took most of m y quarters but Galaga was only a fist full away... fun to play hard to master but man... what a blast.

Go into any place that has an arcade machine, and it's likely that you'll find the Galaga and Ms. Pac-Man 25th Anniversary cabinet. While it's fun to gobble balls, you should really put your 25¢ towards one of the simplest 'shmups you can find. Galaga is stupid-easy to play, but that's by no means a bad thing. It's great because anyone can move a white ship left and right while rapidly tapping the "shoot" button with ease. There should be NO reason to suggest that you haven't played Galaga, ESPECIALLY if you're a gamer.

It's old, but it really set the standard for arcade top-down shooters. Namco used one of the more unique power-up systems. Players had to debate over whether they wanted to sacrifice a life to win an extra gun for their spaceship. It also featured a classic bonus stage, with beautiful patterns of enemies flying in fancy formations. This was full of memorable, nostalgic moments of a simpler age in video game history.

This is mainly here because one time when I was around 10 or so I was on a cub scout camping trip. My dad thought the food there was crap, so we went to a local pizza place with my friend. There was a galaga machine there, and we played it almost the entire time. It was very addicting and fun. It goes to show how sometimes the simplest games can be amazing.
