When Finding Dory was announced, I was annoyed. I felt Pixar was focusing too much on sequels, and besides I saw Finding Nemo as a perfect, complete story that didn't need a sequel (and still do). It came out and people said it was good, which made me want to see it, but I was worried that there would be a bunch of corny, eye rolling call backs to the first movie. There were, plus some overly saccharine scenes with kid Dory, plus the Pixar style of pacing and getting characters from place to place is getting a little familiar. Despite all that, I really liked it. The movie is a spectacle. Pixar leaves the competition in the dust when it comes to 3D animation. Beautiful film. Not only that, but I got a lot of laughs, and it's not easy for a movie to make me laugh. I chuckled often at Marlon's cynical worrying. Might have to put him on my favorite character list. And it's got heart, and I'm a total sap. I enjoyed the optimism and pleasant themes plenty, and I never got bored. Good on ya, Pixar.

" Really good film! I think it's better than Nemo, and it's very impressive animation at times. I like the octopus a lot." - @nodley, 2016
Just finished watching as well, but I have to mostly agree. I dunno if it's BETTER than Nemo, but at least about the same level.
The animation is gorgeous, specially the short before it.
And yes, the octopus is the best character.
Also, one of the few sequels that I actually felt genuine nostalgia about it.
Oh, and I got a girlfriend afterwards. No biggie.

Well I finally saw it! I enjoyed it quite a bit, this has to be the one of best sequels/spin-offs that revolves around a comic relief character. Ellen's performance is very strong and she really carried the movie in a way that surpassed my expectations. The animation is breath taking and there are some great action sequences that flowed nicely and were creative and well designed. I really loved the theme of animals with disabilities working together as it lead to some heartfelt moments. However, I feel like it didn't introduce enough lore to the world of Finding Nemo (other than the octopus character who was really great). I feel like it had too many "remember when this happened in the first movie?" moments that pulled me out of the experience and made me think of how unnecessary this sequel was. And the big emotional moment of the movie really didn't effect me like how previous Pixar movies were able to bring me to tears.

    I just saw this today.

Before going, I had a headache, so I took ibuprofen and bought a vanilla latte with the rest of my Starbucks gift card. A blonde woman took my order, and her face seemed to brighten up when she saw me. I added two spoonfuls of sugar, and finished it right before entering the mall. The headache was gone before I was finished, thankfully.

I was invited by a guy friend, and two ladies were there as well, one of which I hadn't met before. It turned out that she was the one that obtained our tickets, so yay c:
I had orange soda. We had a large popcorn to share.

At the end of one of the trailers I made a joke about it, during the moment of silence afterwards. That brought up plenty of laughter, so I continued. I wanted to make sure the stranger liked me. I'm fairly certain she did.
Before the movie was an excellent, adorable short film. How cute.
The girl took out her phone to text occasionally near the end. The screen was surprisingly dim though, so it really wasn't intrusive.
We ate only about 8% of the popcorn, so after the film, we let the ladies take it.

    But Husky, the movie?
"Oh, he never tells us about the movie. That's just how these posts go."
    But guys, the movie.
Now, I wasn't sure what to expect. Lots of people have claimed that Pixar is losing their creativity, and is just rehashing their most famous films with sequels.
    No, stop.
Finding Dory is the perfect extension to Finding Nemo. Now, first off, let me comment on the brilliant visuals, and especially the sound design, that was some great surround sound they had. The humor was spot-on, and the (not really a spoiler but hidden anyway)Spoilermoment you're waiting for throughout the film nails the target perfectly.

This movie is at least ten times better than Finding Nemo. It is an excellent film-- Finding Dory does an amazing job of developing Dory's character that, in a way, just makes sense, based on her original appearance.
No, this isn't Monsters University, Finding Dory isn't an extension of Finding Nemo...
It's the epitome of the series. Finding Nemo was necessary to establish this movie, it wouldn't work on its own. Finding Dory is the centerpiece, the big climax to Dory's story.
There was only one tiny little thing I didn't like...

Editing … One time when someone was intently (and creepily) flirting with me, and eventually (since I was pretending I couldn't pick up on it) straight up asked me if they were cute, I told them I was gay. Got rid of them for good. I could try that again, and then we'd just be friends. Or I could experiment, and then got lost if things entered the bedroom. Doesn't romance cost money?

Editing … before I was in high school I'd never had girls flirt with me. Except one girl in sixth grade who gave me her number, but I--yes, actually--didn't even pick up on the message. Never called her. She's actually one of the prettiest people I've ever seen, now. She turned out to be a lesbian though. Or was she bi? If there is one single thing that I could be sexually attracted to, maybe it would be her.
