Editing … Mystic Quest for the GB is the first in the Mana series, also called FF Adventure, Mystic Quest Legend is the EU title of Seiken Densetsu, which is the Japanese title of Mystic Quest for SNES. Cheers from Wikipedia!

Editing … sooo the "Mystic Quest" for gameboy that I own is in fact "Secret of Mana 1" which magically transforms my favorite SNES game into "Secret of Mana 2", right? There's also a "Seiken Densetsu 3 = Secret of Mana 3" that never left japan.

Editing … Wait. I derped there... Mystic Quest for GBA is Seiken Densetsu, and the Mystic Quest for SNES is called Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest... since it was made simpler so USA players could play... I always laugh at that, but it's true.

Editing … but afaik mystic quest on SNES (dumbed down final fantasy game for the american market) and mystic quest on gameboy ( = secret of mana 1) are totally different games with different plots and combat systems ? that's what is confusing me, cause both games have the same name but in different regions of the world

Editing … Gameboy: Final Fantasy Adventure (NTSC) = Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (PAL) = Seiken Densetsu 1 (NTSC-J) = Secret of Mana 1 ; SNES: Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (NTSC) = Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Legend (PAL) = final fantasy for yankee idiots (NTSC-J) ... have I said before how much I hate square's business practices sometimes?

Editing … "Final Fantasy Anthology" on PS1 includes FF4 & FF5 in europe and FF5 & FF6 in america just to fuck with everyone's mind | "Final Fantasy Chronicles" on PS1 includes FF4 and Chrono Trigger, I mean wtf. Chrono Trigger is a FF game now according to Square | FF 1, 2, and 4 are all available on PSP UMDs, except FF 3. WHY. | "Final Fantasy Origins" = "Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls" = FF1 & FF2. | There are FF1, FF2, FF4, FF5 and FF6 available on GBA, but scumbag square decided to release FF3 not on Gameboy Advance but on DS just because they can. /rant

Editing … There's an English fan translation for Seiken Densetsu 3. Not really on topic but I thought I'd mention it, it's a very good game.
