I just got owned by the boss in Eureka. The one guarding the elder staff was twice as hard as the ones beforehand.

Currently, I have Ingus as a Black Belt, Arc as a Devout, Refia as a Summoner, and Luneth as a Ninja. Before I got these new jobs, Ingus as a Monk was by far the coolest in the party. He got all the way up to job level 99 and did lots of damage. Now he's the least awesome in the party. Luneth is doing much more damage, and so is Refia with the best summons, and Arc has large quantities of great healing magic. Ninjas and Summoners are cool.

Editing … Weird. You can buy the Leviathan and Bahamut summons, even though you can also fight them to obtain those summons.

Editing … God the crystal tower is massive. Just getting to the mirror then teleporting out before I get final dungeon'ed took ages. It's a cool area, but the sheer percentage of the game the final areas take up is insane.

Editing … Yeah, it's kind of a bummer to go to the trouble of recruiting all the summons, only to find out I could've bought them all in the final area. And yeah, the final dungeon is rough. I know you can save everywhere in the PSP version, but on the original DS version that I played you can only save on the world map. You die on the final boss, and that's whole lotta progress lost. Anyway, good luck. I've always considered this my favorite FF, and it probably still is but I've only ever played it once.

Editing … I beat the game back on DS. Then I think I got to the crystal tower two more times and decided I didn't wanna do all the grinding. I like the Steam version a teensy bit more, if just for the sharper graphics and being able to use a controller. I didn't know there was a way to play the game on PSP, but then again that system is hacked a lot.

Final Fantasy III DS is one of those games I get urges to play very frequently even though it's not one of my very favorite games. Maybe it's cause there aren't a whole lot of 3D RPGs that are THIS traditional. There's a charm to that.

The opera house...the mechs. What an experience back in the day. I rented this, played it non-stop, and beat it as a kid.

great, Final Fantasy III's endboss insta-k.o.ed me with four 9999 hits in a row. Suck my dick, I don't have the patience to play the last 2.5 hours again just so I could say I legitimately "finished" this game.

Editing … I think I knew about the long-end-stretch-no-saving thing in advance and grinded like crazy. This was the DS version. My sister didn't know what grinding was and when she saw me making my character run in circles she was like "Stop that. It's annoying."

Editing … Wait...you stayed with the same jobs that the Wind Crystal gave you? If I understood your post correctly I think you did, and your stats must be crap. It would be better if you upgraded all jobs accordingly throughout the game, evolved the Warriors (fighters?) into Knights, and the White Mage into a Shaman. And if you go to Eureka, which is right at the beginning of the Crystal Tower, you can get the 2 "game breaking" jobs, which is Ninja (physical) and Sage (magic). You also get access to the best equipment in the game.

Editing … ...no. Sage is by far the best magic job, levels up your intelligence like crazy and has alot of magic points to spend on each spell level. AND it can use every magic in the game, including summons. They were nurfed in the 3D versions, but still the main magic class to use specially with the harder bosses where you desperately need two competent mages that can do pretty much anything.

I have an idea......Let's make the end of the game consist of two dungeons and 6 F*****G boss battles with no save points in between :@ I'm about ready to abandon this world-saving quest methinks :'(

Editing … because Square can get away with it, they refuse to devalue their most important brand by placing it in the same price range as all that other shovelware garbage that is out on ios and android. there's also a version of FF3 for PSP and DS, might want to check those out.

It's a shame this never saw a Western release, because this is quite good for a NES-era RPG.

I did not enjoy this game. I beat it but the last hours were very painful to me. I might be over saturating with the traditional FF genre.
