For whatever it was worth, this was one of the best action RPGs for the Game Boy. I mean, it's still incredibly shoddy in certain sections, but it's very easy to pick up and play. Just remember to defeat the Mantis Ant with the Rusty Sword or the game will crash.

...Who the f*** at Squaresoft had the gall to name the hero Sumo? Oh well. I think everyone else came up with more original names. Lol.

Editing … Something about it just looks cheap to me. Maybe it's my anti-smartphone game bias, but it just doesn't look like it's having the same amount of effort put into it as Sword of Mana, or the FF, SaGa and Dragon Quest remakes on DS. Not to mention that the Vita version feels like an afterthought, as it shares the same touch-based interface as the smartphone versions. Oh well, I don't mind too much. It's because the Vita hardware is so similar to phones, and it's powerful enough to where it can run very similar experiences as the PS3/PS4, that it's still getting games. Also, apparently this is meant to be a framework for future Mana remakes? That'll work fine for FF Adventure as it was originally a monochrome Game Boy game, but Secret of Mana, and especially Seiken Densetsu 3, have highly detailed colorful sprite graphics. Putting them on phones using these Unity Engine-ass graphics would be a massive downgrade. But we'll see how it goes. I'll at least try them out.

Woah, I just found out that Sword of Mana is apparently an enhanced remake of the first Seiken Densetsu / Mystic Quest / Final Fantasy Adventure! So I basically only 'have' to play one of them, neat! I did the same thing with Tomb Raider 1 from 1996 and Tomb Raider Anniversary from 2007. Metroid Zero Mission on GBA and Metroid 1 on NES are another example of this.

Editing … Heard bad things though, like 'too wordy' or that it's dumbed down. But I like the music.

This was later remade as Sword of Mana on the Game Boy Advanced but this is the version I've owned, played and, loved since I was a child. You play as the hero Sumo who must save the world from a mad Knight who is trying to destroy The Tree of Mana. The game seems like a mash-up, since it doesn't play like other Final Fantasy titles but still has many mainstays like Moogles, Chocobos and, a bit that takes place in an airship. For such a simple game, there are a lot of great puzzles to be solved, awesome bosses to be fought and the background music, while repetitive, is really good.
