To get free shit just tell other players that the reason you suck is because your arm is damaged after Iraq. It took me an hour to walk back to my camp overencumbered, holy fuck I got some good presents.

I want to play this just to laugh at it. The recent Fallout games usually have some bugs, but this game sounds god-awful.

Todd Howard shares some details on Fallout 76's PvP https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-76-pvp-guide/

"We want this element of danger, and it sounds weird to say, without griefing," Howard said.

Initially, damage scales down against another player who hasn't picked a fight with you. "When you shoot somebody you do a little bit of damage. You don't do full damage. It's like slapping somebody in a bar. You want to fight?"

"So you do little bits of damage. If you engage then you're doing full damage. And there's a cap reward based on the player's level. So if they player is really high level you're gonna get more caps than if they're low level. After one of them dies you can seek revenge which doubles the incentive."

"The player that kills somebody that didn't want to engage in [PvP] becomes a wanted murderer. They get no reward."

"So there is no reward, you get no caps, you get no XP, you get nothing for becoming a wanted murderer except for the kind of social incentives people have online to be assholes. We turn the assholes into interesting content. They appear on your map as a red star. Everybody sees them and they have a bounty on their head. And that bounty comes out of their own caps. And they can't see the other players on the map."

As a safeguard against accidentally starting a PvP situation with an inadvertent 'slap' to someone: there will be a "pacifist flag" players can activate so their bullets don't harm other players at all. Players who flag themselves as pacifists can still be killed, but you can ignore or block player after being killed by them once, so they can't see you on the map for the remainder of that session.

Editing … "We need to put this risk at risk, and we have to say that," he said. Basically, balance is with another player who does not fight with you. "There is a little loss in painting a person, do not hurt us, do you want to fight?" "If you're busy, if you're busy, you're still hurt, and you get a bonus game depending on the level of players, so if your player is too loose, then there are caps no. When you search for these changes, they encourage them. " "The person who killed a person who did not want to join [PVP] was killed." "So there is no reward, you can not handle, you will not get XP, except for the social motivation you want to access the Internet as a weapon." The Red Star ... Everybody looks at them, and there are bases and desires that come from their own. Can not see other players on the map. " The PvP location does not allow anyone to start the wrong slap: "Pacific Ocean Pacific" prevents others from flying in panels. Players who are designated as passive players may still be killed, but you can leave them unobtrusive or unobtrusive when you kill them, so they will not be able to see you on the map for the rest of the session.

I have mixed feelings about this. I was always interested in the idea of a multiplayer Fallout game, but now that it's actually around the corner... I've seen people raise valid concerns. Mainly, why would you add a feature that serves no purpose except to grief people (nuke launch codes)? Also, settlement building was my favorite thing about Fallout 4, but why bother playing with other people if someone with better stuff is just going to come along and fuck it up for shits and giggles after you've spent 5000 hours just gathering the materials (there's a reason I finally enabled cheats for building materials in Fallout 4), let alone planning and building? And how do you tell a story with hardly any NPCs (seems like there are barely any and most of the characters shown in the footage were other players)?

Fallout 76 is reported to be an online survival RPG, comparable to DayZ and Rust.
    https://kotaku.com/sources-fallout-76-is-an-online-survival-rpg-1826425333
"Fallout 76 is an experimental new entry in the longrunning post-apocalyptic series."
"Originally prototyped as a multiplayer version of Fallout 4 with the goal of envisioning what an online Fallout game might look like, Fallout 76 has evolved quite a bit over the past few years."

Let's get the big one out the way first: No, Fallout 76 is not as good as 3, NV or 4.

It's not shit though, far from it. And the bugs seem to have been patched out because in about 10 hours I've not seen a single one.
The map is just enormous, there's so much to explore that I reckon it'll take over 100 hours easily.
As a single player game it plays fine, I'm playing it just like the previous games, a lone explorer shooting anything I come across.

The quests are a bit boring and this is the game's downfall, there's not enough to keep you playing unless like me, you love exploring.
