Computer facial animation is primarily an area of computer graphics that encapsulates methods and techniques for generating and animating images or models of a character face. The character can be a human, a humanoid, an animal, a fantasy creature or character, etc. Due to its subject and output type, it is also related to many other scientific and artistic fields from psychology to traditional animation. The importance of human faces in verbal and non-verbal communication and advances in computer graphics hardware and software have caused considerable scientific, technological, and artistic interests in computer facial animation.

    Okay guys, here's a fun topic.
    What games had the best facial animation?

    Facial animation is real important. A lack of expression or out of sync voices can break your immersion, or appear amateur. Great animation can make a graphically unimpressive game appear to have more realism than one with 16K textures, but shitty animation!
    Some games don't even seem to bother with facial detail, and you have to rely almost solely on the lips. Sometimes the lips are exactly what breaks your immersion, as they won't mimic any expression.
    But what had the best animation? In which titles were the expressions and lip movements the most convincing, the most realistic? Was it LA Noire, Mafia III, Half-Life 2, Quantum Break? Share, friend. Speak to me. Animate your face as you expel words.
