This is interesting, I wish it wasn't so loosely based. Oops, link in the comment.

So that was a weird ending. Not entirely sure I get it. This was a decent game that holds your hand a bit too much in my opinion. The story kept me engaged and the voice acting was phenomenal. A bit short and I think they dropped the ball on utilizing the cloud more.

Just started a playthrough after having this on my PS3 for years and never trying it. First impressions are good other than the controls are a bit to loose for my liking. Trying to jump into some of that singleplayer backlog since I let my PS+ run out and can't waste time on any multiplayer games at the moment.

Editing … So far this has been quite fun. The frame rate is trash though and the tech orbs for upgrades feels like an archaic form of game design. "Oh Trip, you're in danger? Wait a moment while I zigzag all over the map to collect tech orbs."

What is with the death animation in this game? We get a cinematic closeup of Monkey looking less like he's shuffling off this mortal coil and more like he's smelled a really bad fart.

I've seen this on almost underrated games list I've ever looked at and I've finally got around to playing it. I can see why it was on so many underrated games lists it's quite good.

Finally picked this up. The opening hour or so is great, hopefully it keeps up the pace.

Editing … It holds up all the way through. Could get frustrating if you're playing on hard but it's worth it!

I heard that this game has a lot in common with The Last of Us. Is this game worth buying if I like these kinds of games?

Editing … I haven't played TLOU so I can't compare, but it's a cool game. Very striking visuals, enjoyable characters/writing, imaginative world, decent combat/platforming.

Editing … Wouldn't really compare it to The Last of Us, Enslaved's a lot more colourful and less bleak. If you want to compare it to Naughy Dog games then Enslaved's set pieces and platforming are actually a lot like Uncharted, the combat's not that great though.

Editing … I think I'll give it a go. It's probably pretty cheap now that it has been out for a while and it seems like an interesting game.

Editing … Definitely play it; it's probably the most underrated game of the 7th gen. The locations are beautiful, the plot is creative, and the characters are really well developed.

Editing … @John Villarose, NIER says hi! :P But, I agree with @richardpale, it's more akin to Uncharted than TLoU. Gameplay is solid, but nothing to write home about and framerate on the PS3 is quite underwhelming. Still, the game's worth playing for its story and characters alone.

It seems odd to re-release Enslaved over three years later on PS3 as a 'Premium Edition', that game didn't even have much DLC to begin with iirc. Sequel announcement incoming?

This game's great, an interesting take on a post-apocalyptic setting due to the beautiful world filled with colors. The story's decent apart from the ending, which is just plain weird though still alright. The characters, though, are very good. The combat is pretty average, but there are some really nice moments in this game. A little on the short side though, probably around 8 hours. It's dirt cheap too, I've seen it for $5 on numerous occasions, and at that price you can't go wrong with this.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West does a lot of things right, but the gameplay department simply misses its mark. From all of the aspects that form Enslaved, the gameplay one is the least impressive, being unpolished and/or unimaginative. The game sets such a high bar in all other areas, that the gameplay aspect stands out like a sore thumb. Solid as it may be, it simply doesn't measure up.
Pros: Superb cast of characters, fantastic voice acting, awesome facial and body animations in cutscenes, great story and writing, vibrant visuals
Cons: Constant framerate slowdown, crude gameplay that never really ''clicks'', platforming a la Uncharted, restricted movement , never-let-go-of-player's-hand nature of the game, music is used too sparingly
