I'd give Doom 3 an 8 but this thing gives you Doom 1, Doom 2, Doom 2 No Rest for the Living, Doom 3, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, and Doom 3: The Lost Mission.

That's about a million hours of stuff.

Editing … I hardly play FPS but maybe I should buy this Edition sometime just because Doom's so famous.

Editing … If you don't like fps I'm not sure that this would sell you over. Doom 3 is a bit hit and miss even with the fanbase. It's got lots of audiologs and emails and other atmosphere stuff though if you like that sort of horror thing. Doom 1 and 2 are my favourite since you just shoot tons of enemies constantly, but you can download them on any PC and run them with Brutal Doom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBBs18HUZik

BFG was a weird thing. On one hand, great, an updated complimation of all non Final Doom games. Doom 3 itself got a major make over (for better or for worse). I think the better lightning, more ammo, and increased amount of conflict makes it a better experience overall. Doom 3 is not a bad game and is still fun, but I would recommend the first two over this any day.

Doom 3 BFG Edition gets my vote since it includes Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 in one big package. Both Doom and Doom 2 are huge classics in their genre and helped popularize not only the first person shooter genre to a new level, but also stuff like online deathmatches and the ever-popular modding community. Doom 3 gets a big upgrade here as well with updated visuals, 3D support and some minor gameplay changes in that you can now use a shoulder mounted flashlight with your guns to make the game more fun to play than ever. Definitely a great bargain, especially if you're a PS3 or 360 gamer.

This is a great re-release that offers the original Doom 1 and 2, along with the Doom 3 Ressurection of Evil expansion pack and a new Lost Levels for Doom 3. In Doom 3 it tweaks things like speed and having a flashlight on your gun. Yeah huge! I know. They're for the best. The only downside is that there is no mod support, but eh whatever. Most of the mods were terrible anyway. Another issue is that the Doom 1 and 2 are vanilla. A lot of people that still play the original 2 Dooms have moved onto better versions of the Doom engine to play the original Dooms.
