Controversial opinion time: I actually quite liked DmC. Sure it's not like the earlier games(And DMC3 is still my favorite of the bunch) and the dialogue can be cringeworthy at times but I still had quite a lot of fun with it.

Speaking of which, I'm wondering if it's worth double dipping and grabbing the Definitive Edition. I normally don't rebuy games unless there's a big change to them or if it's something I absolutely like but so far the changes I see for the Definitive Edition actually makes it better.

Editing … I only ever played the demo but I remember it running really slow on PS3. If you are thinking about getting it on PS4 or Xone then the biggest difference will be 60fps, it has all the DLC too. If you played it on PC though then I don't think it will be much of an upgrade. There's the updated version of DMC4 out now too: they added extra modes and characters, lots of visual stuff as well.

Editing … I almost got DMC4: SE but I was five dollars short for PSN. I had the original version but I never got very far since the disk was messed up to the point where when I do the second mission, it just freezes and kicks me off to the PS3s Menu. And yeah 60 FPS and the DLC is why I am considering rebuying DmC.

You should check out the Definitve Edition on PS4! Especially if you haven't played the first version. 1080p / 60 FPS - It looks nothing short than AMAZING! O____o

The Devil May Cry reboot. Infamous it is. For good reasons. It shows promise in the plot, but the characters are either butchered, underdeveloped, or just plain unlikeable. Combat can be fun, but once you realize how easy you can go through the game it gets old. The game just hands out S ranks as to say everyone deserves it no matter how bad they are at games. It does have higher difficulties but to get to them you have to play through the game on the lower difficulties first, which means dealing with the bad writing and easy combat. The game's graphics are alright except for a few terrible looking parts. Limbo is sometimes cool and so was Bob Barbas. The Unreal Engine does it's thing and curses the game with texture issues. There are some good things but they are overshadowed by all the bad. Which is worse, Devil May Cry 2 or DmC: Devil May Cry? I don't know. DMC 2 was boring, but I didn't hate all the characters I had liked. So I will just give them the same score for now.

It doesn't quite feel like Devil May Cry but it's probably a better game than 2 and 4. Ninja Theory's games, while featuring very nice graphics and story, always seem a bit undercooked in the gameplay department and this one is no exception. The combat is great fun but there isn't much variety. Also, it's quite short. However, it's a good game and deserves to be checked out. Just don't expect the revelation that was the original Devil May Cry. For better of for worse, this is a westernized version of the series and much of the weird goofiness has been trimmed.
