Diablo II is an action role-playing hack and slash video game developed by Blizzard North and published by Blizzard Entertainment in 2000 for Windows and Mac OS computers. The game, with its dark fantasy and horror themes, was conceptualized and designed by David Brevik and Erich Schaefer, who with Max Schaefer acted as project leads on the game. The producers were Matthew Householder and Bill Roper. Building on the success of its predecessor Diablo (1996), Diablo II was one of the most popular games of 2000. Major factors that contributed to Diablo II's success include its continuation of popular fantasy themes from the previous game and its access to Blizzard's free online play service Battle.net. An expansion to Diablo II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, was released in 2001. A sequel, Diablo III, was announced in 2008, and was released on May 15, 2012.     Diablo 2 was the best in the randomly generated open adventure games and provided a rich story and a great deal of options to play the many different classes and was replayable for years

    Just because I love Diablo 1 so much doesn't mean I can't include Diablo 2. It would be insane otherwise. One of the first games to have an absolutely massive online community, Diablo 2 is a insanely fun game to play with either friends, family, or even by yourself. Characters are diverse, the game is MUCH longer than Diablo 1, and nothing ever feels un-fun (except Act 3). Playing with a party of friends is just one of the best multi-player experiences you can get. Don't get Diablo 3, get Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction. It's cheaper and you will get more fun from it.

    Playing this as a seven or eight year old, it was a bloody scary game! So atmospheric, so tense, so glorifyingly brutal and fun. The combat, loot and absolutely STELLER music made this a bloody good romp. Loved this game, and still holds up today in my opinion.

    The summary of my childhood,nuff said. I still remember back in those days, I used to have ton's of characters that I use to roam the world of diablo with. From the close range attacks of the barbarian to the summon skills of the Druid, those were my childhood. Those memories of my childhood playing with my brother on an ''older'' pc of that time. Those are my childhood that i wouldn't want to replace ever ! From the graphics of those times, to the gameplay.. it is flawless.. (Or maybe its just because of nostalgic feeling in me)
    But in all due respect, its one of the games that i really need to thank for simply coming into my life.

    What can I say..... Every time I hear Diablo II I see my life flashing before my eyes, I spent countless hours on this game and I still can't get enough of it, if you haven't played it PLAY IT!

    Diablo II provides the pinnacle of loot-driven gameplay. With little complexity and immense depth, the game manages to consistently find that combination of clever and fun. Diablo II also offers a brilliant co-op experience, allowing players to combine different classes and personalise playstyle; there's something satisfying about an Amazon player striking down an enemy, only to have that enemy revived by a Necromancer player. At some parts however co-op can seem a burden, when dungeons with small rooms cause players to get stuck against each other. Perhaps the game's greatest strength has to be its replay value, with random loot, random maps, and many potential playstyles it's not difficult to see why Diablo II is still popular today.
