Destiny is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. Released on September 9, 2014, Destiny marked Bungie's first new franchise since the Halo series. Set in a "mythic science fiction" setting, the game features a massively-multiplayer "shared-world" environment with elements of role-playing games. Upon its release, Destiny received mixed reviews with criticism centered mostly around the game's storyline and post-campaign content. The game was praised for maintaining lineage from the Halo franchise, particularly in regards to its competitive experiences. Destiny '​s style has been described as a first-person shooter that incorporates role-playing and massively multiplayer online game (MMO) elements, but Bungie has avoided defining Destiny as a traditional MMO game.       Editing … Nod and Silent matter a lot to me, like my IRL friends. It's a different kind of experience than talking in person, but I don't compare which is better. That seems kind of heartless. I try not to think of real stuff the same as fiction stuff. I feel like there's some alternate universe Egg who can barely distinguish reality from fantasy and I don't wanna be that guy.

    I got into Destiny with the Destiny Collection, which is much later than the early adopters. I've heard that this game was a big disappointment at launch for its minuscule amount of content, but I seemed to have jumped in at the right time, because I had a blast with this game when all was said and done. My 9 rating is based on the complete package.

      Editing … The core gameplay is fun but it's ruined by having all the focus on grinding and no singleplayer campaign. Unless you like PvP just get a Halo game.

    I'll never understand why Destiny's Master Chief wears a helmet that has a visor on its back. It's like Activision's marketing department couldn't decide on the direction that character should face, so they just made him look both ways. This weirds me out more than it should. #The Exorcist

    So.. a sequel is already in the works. Guess the original plan of supporting this game for 10 years without doing the sequel went through the window?

      Editing … Yeah I thought I'd get a few more hours in before making my mind but it's definitely a good co-op game. I think too many people were hoping for a Halo style campaign but it's way more focused on teamwork.
