I prefer the gameplay style of the prequels, and Demon's Crest doesn't really do much with the new hardware except for adding a mode 7 style world map; It's still a slow paced and methodical platformer with obviously tiled looking backgrounds and very few new ideas. The main quest is a bit short, and the Metroid style exploration feels tacked on - there's no real sense of achievement in finding items as most of the time they sort of just lie around in random areas for you to grab. On the plus side, the boss fights are good and the different transformations give the gameplay some needed diversity. Overall, it's a decent continuation of the series and here's hoping for another entry.
