This game's Normal mode should be its hard mode.

The retry system should only apply to checkpoints. There's no reason to make you sit through the death scene and then go back to the main menu and load, especially since there's only saves between floors, not at the start of the first one.

X should never make you fall. That should only be circle. X means get up.

It should not be so easy to accidentally push a block instead of pulling it.

Even with all that different, I dunno how jazzed I'd be about the gameplay. It's just trial and error. Once you know it you know it, so I imagine there'd be no replay value. I'd be happy with puzzle games just not being a thing.

I'm still happy I tried it though. It's very weird and intense and I like the graphics and scenes. If it was the same story but a genre I liked, maybe it could've been a favorite of mine. The way it does text messages is brilliant. More story focused games should do stuff like that.

Silent Gamer Nice review. My feelings are pretty much the same as yours. At least when you finish it, they give you a "story mode" without the puzzles if you ever felt the need to revisit the plot.

The limited continues is dumb. Having how many times you can restart from the checkpoints you run into be limited makes sense, but having how many times you can restart the floor be limited is nonsensical. Why make the player go back to the start menu if they run out of continues or want to save their continues for later levels?

Otherwise I'm enjoying the graphics, story, and gameplay so far. On stage 3. The gameplay is really fast paced, it's not like Roll Away. It's much more arcade-y.

It was about 3 and a half years ago that I first thrust myself into Block Hell. Finally, on the night of March 4th, 2015, I've unlocked "Cheers To You." And there's my 11th game in which I've unlocked all of the achievements, and easily my hardest and proudest 1000 gamerscore yet.

Just got The Golden Child (achievement for getting all gold prizes on Hard)! All that's left for the 100% is to beat Axis Mundi... *gulp*

Just got the Gold award on the hardest stage in the game (9-5) tonight, as well as for the entirety of the 9th night. Only took... 6 hours total of attempts (just for 9-5)? Yeah, it's THAT luck-based. SUCK IT, MUTTON. Getting all of the Gold awards on Hard will be all downhill from here.

I've recently fallen head-over-heels for this game... a SECOND time. Climbing the SHIT out of blocks FOR DAYS.
