Bernie Sanders has officially announced his 2020 presidential bid.

Eliminating tax loopholes and increasing taxes on individuals who in many cases are paying less in taxes than their secretaries sounds like a sure way to boost the economy, and his proposed medicare system would save the government tens of trillions of dollars at the least, even according to Koch-funded studies.

Next up they'll laud some fraud who's deep in the same pockets as the outlet interviewing them, who screens their questions yet still redirects from the ones they accept.

But they only look out for the rich so the poor get poorer and Labour are again voted in.

It's a big part of why Trump got elected, he was a political outsider, not a career politician making their living by selling out the entirety of America. 'course, now we've got proof you don't need to be a career politician to do so.

Editing … Electing a corrupt lying cunt isn't a great way to send that sort of message. But you are right about Clinton, and it's corrupt politicians like her that result in Americans embracing people like Trump. Even if it's a bit idiotic to not be able to identify him as just as corrupt. All he's done in office is make life harder for the poor and middle class, and easier on the rich and on corporations. He chooses businessmen to set the (de)regulations on their own fields of business, he's taken health care from millions of Americans, and he's massively dropped corporate tax rates. He's sold out Americans for the sake of billionnaires' bottom lines just as well as plenty career politicians have.

What I'm seeing as uncommon right now is the amount of Democrats running for president this cycle, what's this, eleven expected candidates right now? I can't remember the race ever being between more than a handful. Kamala Harris is who the establishment media's chosen as their frontrunner, but I'm only looking at Bernie and Gabbard. Warren's a decent pick, but she's betrayed her base. Just hoping she doesn't split much of the progressive vote.

Editing … I have mixed feelings about Sanders because of the age thing. He's the best one in terms of policy, and I wouldn't at all mind voting for his re-election in 2020 but he'll be 82 in 2024. I'm not comfortable with someone being president into their mid-eighties; it just throws a lot more uncertainty into the mix. He could do a one-term pledge kind of thing, but let's face it: NOBODY likes voting for potential one-termers. They like voting for people who can hopefully be in for eight full years, and they also like voting for incumbents after four good ones. And if he promised to and stuck with one-term, he'd become a lame duck fairly quickly and the 2024 field would be nearly as bad as the 2020 one for Democrats, losing that incumbency campaign advantage. I still think his best chance was in 2016. Right now if it has to be anyone declared it has to be Warren. Otherwise I guess perhaps Harris, who I keep going back and forth on. Most of the others are uninteresting and deeply flawed.
