Batman: Arkham Knight is a 2015 action-adventure video game developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. Based on the DC Comics superhero Batman, it is the successor to the 2013 video game Batman: Arkham Origins, and the fourth main installment in the Batman: Arkham series. Arkham Knight was released worldwide on June 23, 2015.

    Going in I was thinking all this Batmobile complaining was exaggeration. Then I played the first hour.. 45 min was batmobile... Ugh might have to switch to something else.

      Editing … I actually had fun with the tank battles, but even then you wind up getting sick of them. No proper boss fights for the entire game. "Okay Deathstroke, it's down to you and me, mano a mano and- oh you have a giant drill mech? Hold on, I'll hop in my tank!" It's exhausting. And I always really enjoyed the challenge maps on the previous games and in Knight about three quarters of them are Batmobile related. Boo!

    When this was first released I thought this was easily gonna be a 9/10 game for me, but damn this is the weakest entry in the series. Tank, tank, bit of batman, tank, tank, tank, driving, tank, batmobile puzzle, tank, batman, tank, tank.

      Editing … The Batmobile feels so good to control I didn't think I would ever get sick of it, but man they just push it soooo damn far. The tension in the story escalates, Batman growls something like "I'm taking you down, Crane!" Everything builds to an epic crescendo of hero vs villain, aaaaand Batman hops is ass back in the fucking tank. Woof.

      Editing … It's a different beast of a game and one I actually love almost as equally as the AA. Which I did not expect coming off the (imo) slightly disappointing AC (for some reason that game never clicked with me, while AA is in my top 10 games of all time) and comments about the ''horrible'' and ''overused'' tank sections. Truth be told, I read about all the negatives and decided to invest all of my upgrade points into the Batmobile first and would you believe it I really enjoyed it! That and my expectations were low. :P I'd imagine the game would be a pain if you didn't know that at launch and upgraded the suit or something else first though. The only downsides I'd point out are the lack of the proper boss fights (which is somewhat fixed with the DLC) and the moment when in the end game the tank combat sections get basically reset (iirc). EDIT: Oh and locking the true ending behind the shit ton of lame Riddler puzzles is some next level of bullshit!

      Editing … I've just "finished" the game. I'm now left with the decision on whether to mop up the side quests I hadn't finished. I reckon I will do a couple of the ones I enjoy, but there is no way in hell I am touching the tank battles or riddler garbage. I'll youtube the "real" ending.

    Some of the chase sequences in this game are HARD as balls. Or maybe I just suck at driving the Batmobile.

      Editing … I never understood the phrase hard as balls. Balls are soft in my experience. They might be taut in cold situations and loose in hot but never hard. There's gotta be something pretty wrong for them to be hard. I guess you could say it's hard to get hard balls so... I don't know.

      Editing … I still can't believe Rocksteady didn't include a single proper boss battle outside of the tank shit. Bosses were one of the weaker parts of Asylum, and Origins didn't do the "8 assassins" as well as some would have hoped, but then with Knight they just went "Nah, not even going to try this time!"

    I encountered a bug where it rained indoors. And not just rained, it formed puddles and covered the consoles in water. It just goes to show you how cool the weather system is, even if it sometimes forgets you aren't outside anymore.

      Editing … I think that game's a bit of a scam, actually. Not only is the DLC incredibly weak, not only does the batmobile's tank mode ruin many sections for me, but I literally didn't even get a fucking ending: I got to the point where you're supposed to get an ending, and nothing happened. I know it forces you to do EVERYTHING in order to get the best ending (which is bullshit, because side content should NOT be tied to and ending) but even though I fulfilled the requirements for part of the ending, it just didn't trigger. Massive ripoff of a game, and to think I paid full price for it. I'll never forgive Rocksteady for this one.

      Editing … From what I understand, you're supposed to be able to get one ending by doing a certain amount of the wanted missions. i don't remember the exact number, but maybe half to 2/3 or something like that. i know I did the right amount, but still couldn't trigger it, anyway, so that just triggered me to the point where I looked the ending up on Youtube and never looked back. I usually don't mind doing side content, but I don't think it should ever be forced on to a player to the point where you can't get a proper ending without doing it. That's just silly. It's like, you play just for the story, yet the developers decide that's not good enough, so you don't get an ending, and all the time your spent playing the game ends up feeling like a total waste. I really like all the other games, even Origins, but this one just really pissed me off.

    I dunno what was up at launch, but my 970's having no issue maxing this game out, woah. Even the generally expensive GameWorks effects don't add any hits. Hell, according to the ingame assessment of how much VRAM would be needed, I ought to be spilling over into the sluggish 512MB partition, but all seems to be going well.

    + Batmobile stuff is fun and cool
    + More variety, better graphics, and more maturity than Arkham City
    + Side content feels more important and tied into the main story than in Arkham City
    + Hallucination element handled really cleverly
    + Dense with content and doesn't get repetitive
    + Oracle is cute and sympathetic
    + A few real good fake outs
    +Surprisingly weird

    - Main story ending doesn't feel like an ending
    - Like in Arkham City, once I finished the main story, I didn't feel like doing more side stuff
    - Difficulty all over the place
    - Scarecrow's boring in this

    Finished the main story, though it doesn't feel finished, the ending was not one of the better parts of the story. I'll get the Knightfall thing, unless it means getting every riddler trophy, which I won't do, I've only gotten like 30 so far. At 82 percent completion.

    SpoilerI like Oracle. But I think it might have suited the story better if she'd stayed dead.

    Spoiler That fakeout with Batman in the cell and the fake out with Bruce in the elevator were both great. I was not expecting mind fucks in my AAA Batman threequel. I'm pretty sure I like this more than Arkham City now. I'm actually surprised it didn't get a warmer reception.

    This game's so fuckin' dense. You can go into the evidence section of the police station for shits and giggles and you can see a bunch of villain stuff. Not only is there narration about it, but your "imaginary friend" comments on it too. Then there's the electrical charge, with a little explanation for why you haven't had it so far in the game. You can smash the glass to collect it, and then as your leaving, a cop mentions hearing the breaking glass. It's also really impressive when you have the camera barely off your "imaginary friend" and then you turn to look and he's gone. Like, holy shit.
