Its unfortunate that this game not only suffers from early-2000s graphics but the hand-holding puzzles that give you no way to fail completely, no possibility of branching story choices, bad UI design with a few too many choices at certain moments, and several dull storylines that are just insults to BttF fans. While it is a good "sequel" to the original trilogy, that includes Christopher Loyd as Doc and features AJ Locascio as Marty, it won't be talked about favorably in social circles of DeLorean enthusiasts any time soon.

The BTTF game is a 3D point-n-click adventure that comes in episodic form and delivers an excursive addition to the franchise without changing the canon too much. Unfortunately, in a few puzzles the characters seem to be conveniently stupid/blind marionettes, one or two cutscenes are buggy and the subtitles are a bit unreadable, but the voice acting is top-notch and, apart from one plot inconsistency that someone has yet to explain to me, the complex time-travelling story is engaging and depicted comprehensably. Otherwise it's more of the same; material recycling is a common theme: the trilogy itself used a fair bit of repetition, so THIS MUCH hommage - in its music, its characters, Marty's obstacles - disappoints me a bit.
