    You guys won't be too bothered if I say that this one's just okay, right?
    Cuz it's just okay. Nothing else. Rambling follows.
    SpoilerNothing really happens in it. Loki's already died multiple times, so this was overdue, and even though I really like Gamora and her death had impact, it means that Marvel's killed off their only quality romance plot. Hulk/Black Widow, Iron Man/Gwyneth Paltrow, Vision/Scarlet Witch are completely uninteresting to me. Everyone else is coming back, as clued by a number of them already having confirmed sequels, so there's no impact to them "dying."
    More people should have actually died. The start established that this film was setting high stakes, and then after that the film mostly proved to be just another Marvel movie. I've seen a lot of Marvel movies. It makes the film far too predictable, and that just makes it boring.
    Speaking of boring, the entire Wakanda section was really boring and devoid of much worthwhile screentime. Probably should've been cut down.
    I noticed that the action scenes overloaded with CGI, featuring fighters like Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and aliens, were much better edited than ones featuring real actors. Are they really unable to choreograph the real people? Well, maybe they should just CGI every fight, at least then they won't be overedited to shit.
    Also, I gotta wonder why Rocket gave that story for the eye he gave Thor, since he could've just used the eye he stole in Guardians 2. Did they forget?

    Maybe this film can appeal to the occasional superhero viewer, but when you see every single one that's released, this one's just passable.

      Editing … I know that people say *every* new Marvel movie is the "best one yet," but after hearing it so much for Infinity War, I actually believed that they could be right. Unfortunate.

      Editing … "Are they really unable to choreograph the real people?"SpoilerLine break Yes. See Civil War's apartment sequence vs the airport sequence. It's much harder to elegantly choreograph two people engaging in martial arts while hiding the stunt doubles faces than it does to have one actor punching and kicking at the air where a CGI creation will be added later.SpoilerLine break"Well, maybe they should just CGI every fight, at least then they won't be overedited to shit."SpoilerLine break Oh hell nah, that's what ruined the final showdown in Black Panther. Reliance on CG works for certain action sequences and not for others.

      Editing … SpoilerThe worst part of the movie is definitely Thanos' infantile perception of population control. Murdering half of everyone is a temporary solution at best. Our population has doubled in the last 50 years and it's not going to take that long for us to wind up right back where we are now, and from the look of it Thanos is fresh out of Infinity Gauntlets. In the real world populations growth plateaus once it reaches a certain level of infrastructure and stability. The level of chaos caused by killing half a population is simply going to require everyone to reproduce even faster than normal. It's like the writers wanted to use Thanos' plan from the comics but thought his reasoning was too silly, so they just went with the first idea that popped into their head as to why else he would want to accomplish that goal. I bet they think it sounded sooooo sophisticated too, and the fact that so many on the internet thinks this makes him a deep and compelling villain is profoundly frustrating. I don't want to hear another goddamn word about lousy Phase 1 villains ever again! They're all Hans Gruber compared to this purple scrotum-chinned pretender.

      Editing … SpoilerAlso the contrivances that allow Thanos to win are profoundly frustrating. I'll let it slide for now that Dr Strange gives up his stone because he's seen the future and Tony is likely instrumental in setting things right. But hundreds of Wakandan soldiers have to die so that Vision can live? I feel like they were going for subtext of the heroes losing everything because they refuse to sacrifice anything. Loki refuses to sacrifice Thor, Wanda refuses to sacrifice Vision, Strange refuses to sacrifice Tony, Gamora refuses to sacrifice Nebula, etc. This doesn't really do a lot for me because nothing is really go anywhere, and what is it meant to say? That trading lives is necessary? That Thanos is right? Yeah, fuck that noise. And the one I simply can't let slide is Starlord not being able to restrain himself for literally five seconds even with trillions of lives on the line. There was some heavy duty character assassination done to Peter in this film. If they hadn't regressed his character to the start of Guardians 1 his grief might have come across as something more than a juvenile mantrum about his favorite green piece of ass being taken away, but no, Peter has to do the ONE fucking thing that will actually prevent him from avenging his lover, while simultaneously soaking his hands in the blood of countless people. There are few things more frustrating in a story than the heroes being a pubic hair from victory only for some dumbshit's profound stupidity to make everything go sideways, often with the audience being expected to still root for said dumbshit.

      Editing … Sandy, you make a great point by bringing up Black Panther's CGI fight. However, Black Panther also had generally low quality CGI when compared to most MCU films. MCU CGI seems to vary pretty greatly by entry, actually.SpoilerLine breakAnd Silent, I think that's irrelevant. Action movies are still expected to be good films. If the movie has issues, then the issues still stand.

    I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. Age of Ultron was underwhelming (yay, no more Joss Whedon!), and I've been more of a Guardians of the Galaxy fan than of the Avengers. Even though I haven't seen a lot of the movies in the MCU, I didn't feel lost or bored like I figured I would be. And Tom Holland is such a good Spidey ;_;

    As much as I love the Marvel Movies, I have exactly zero hype for this movie. Civil War was the tie-in movie I needed, not sure I care anymore about another Avengers. And unless Thanos gets any real character development pronto, I'm gonna be sick of him before he's even done anything. He was revealed way too early I think. We are what, seven movies further since his reveal and we still gotta wait almost another two years before he is the villain. Pfft, lamesauce!

    Surprise, surprise! First Justice League, then Avengers http://www.imdb.com/news/ni60100347/
    Part II isn't cancelled, but it will now be going under a new unrelated (so far as Infinity Wars go) title.
