I used to love this one but it's beginning to show its age. The Janken game, which wasn't exactly a great idea to begin with takes up more space this time around and you are required to play it just to shop for gear in the towns. You'll need some time to get used to the controls as they are a bit floaty and hit detection varies between attacks. On the plus side, there are more vehicles and gadgets to play around with including a pogo stick; all of these have their own themes playing when used but more importantly they can be equipped and unequipped anywhere. There are also some alternate paths to take through stages, either by stomping open the ground to find cave routes or using whatever means available to reach higher into the sky. This usually rewards the player with money and extra lives.

In a way, we got another, better Alex Kidd game in Kid Chameleon which re-uses some aspects but tries to make the setting and characters "badass/edgy".

Classic platformer. Hunting down coins, playing rock/paper/scissors and punching fools has never been more fun.
