Saved!Silent GamerEditing … I wouldn't call last gen a false start Rukk. The two major consoles launched with fully integrated online services, digital stores and a huge upgrade in hardware. PS3 had a built-in Blu-ray player, web browser and backwards compatability with a huge library of titles and free online gaming. By this point in their respective cycles, there were a ton of great games for PS3 and 360 like Uncharted, Mirror's Edge, Metal Gear Solid 4, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Motorstorm, Oblivion, Portal, Grand Theft Auto IV, Disgaea 3, Dead Space, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Street Fighter IV, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Crackdown, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Rock Band, Lost Odyssey, Battlefied: Bad Company, Supreme Commander. I don't claim to know enough about Wii to comment on that, but it WAS one of the world's fastest-selling consoles, having sold 76 million units in it's first 4 years compared to the Wii U's 13 million.
Saved!Husky WingEditing … How was the last gen a false start? At launch, the 7th gen hardware was BETTER than PCs for like, a solid two months. And unlike the 8th gen systems, developers didn't reach the limits of their hardware for YEARS. That's why the generation lasted so long, because it was so technically good. Not like the PS4 and Xbone where they were technically outdated before release, and games could push their limits right out the gate.
