Favorite Games of 1991

In 1991 Sega exposed the local japanese gaming audience to the Mega-CD (Sega CD in NA), an add-on for the Sega MegaDrive (aka Genesis), empowering the device with more features such as a better sounding soundtrack, enhanced graphics and wholly CD-based games. One Pacific ocean away, Nintendo introduced the US audience to their 16-bit answer to the MegaDrive: the Super Nintendo. This positively spawned a console war between the two companies - much to the benefit of the gamers who got to enjoy entertainment marbles from those two and other machines, like the first graphical MMORPG, the introduction of a popular spiked blue animal and one of Sid Meier's most successful games.
