Anyone else think we should get the music by decade lists first? These songs/albums by years lists feel super specific to me and I don't really know which year which songs/albums are from to add my favourites to the database.

Editing … What I usually do is go through the wikipedia page for 2005 in music or whatever year, and add a page for every album/song I like from that year, before the list comes out. I think having the decade lists after the year list probably actually works better, because I feel like a lot of pages aren't created until the yearly lists come out. That way there's more pages overall once the decade list is made.

Editing … I still think the less specific lists should be available first. Your point about pages getting created for the yearly lists making for an eventual better decades list isn't wrong but you could just as easily use that argument to say we shouldn't have the all time favourite songs/albums lists yet.

Editing … For me unlike films/games (but just like books) I'm only ever barely aware of which years my favourite songs came out in because I discovered most of them after they were new. I do know which decades most of them are from though and I'd say music from each decade tends to have a distinctive character so that'd be a way more appealing list to me.

Editing … I generally like the idea of having a best-of-decade albums list. In fact, the 90s and 60s lists can't come soon enough. :)
