Wow, The Witcher III, MGS5, Bloodborne, and Undertale were all the same year? 2015 was a big deal.

Editing … The Batmobile taking up a third of the game with tank battles and being shoehorned into all the puzzles and boss battles didn't bother you @Ed Kick? As much as I like the other Arkham games in Arkham Knight's case I'd say Witcher 3's in a whole different league.

Editing … I don't care either way about the Batmobile races you do for collectibles, they're optional so no worries. The annoying thing was that most of the puzzles and almost every boss battle had the Batmobile shoehorned in and that those tank battles aren't optional and get very repetitive.

Editing … The tank battles and the tank boss battles I definitely was not a fan of but I thought the rest of the game was fantastic. Something with Witcher 3 didn't quite click for me, something held it back from being in the top 25 or higher conversation. I thought a lot of the RPG elements were weak, like the skill tree, to my recollection was not a single interesting skill nor any skills that really changed anything or made me feel like I actually progressed. I didn't feel compelled to explore every nook and cranny like I do in many other RPG's I played it more similar to Red Dead were I basically rode straight from quest to quest. Just little things like that over the course of my 125ish hours held it back from being the perfect RPG for me personally.

So, is there a game from last year that passed you guys by because you were too busy playing something else? Where you waiting for a price drop, then forgot about it? Did you just never find the time?

Guys, what is the one game of 2015 that you most want to try but haven't yet?

Aside from that, I bought Disgaea 5 shortly after its release and had been meaning to play it, but I kept getting distracted by other games and just never did get around to it. Finally played about 5 hours of it last night and it was great..... And now it gets to be shelved again for the new Deus Ex game. I definitely will get back to it after, though. Probably.....

What's the game you were most disappointed with in 2015? Or is there a game that you expected to be bad, but it surprised you with it's quality?

Editing … The dialogue, for one. Most characters can only be spoken to *once,* if at all. Even "important" characters can't be spoken to once you've completed their one, single quest. The single conversation you can hold with these characters is linear, with limited dialogue options. I'm not exaggerating when I say that you can only speak to at least 90% of the characters only once.

Editing … Definitely Arkham Knight, the stealth and combat and open world are still great but the way you're forced to use the Batmobile over and over and over for everything from solving puzzles to fighting endless waves of tanks to every last boss fight ruined about a third of the game.

Editing … Yea richard, that seems to be a common complaint against Arkham Knight. Maybe I haven't played enough of it to suffer from fatigue, but I've been pleasantly surprised with the game. I was a little sour after Arkham City, and Arkham Knight really blew me away. It seemed to take all the best parts of the previous games (including some neat stuff from Arkham Origins :)) and added a great story-telling mechanic. I have yet to complete the game, but it already feels like a 9.5 to me.

More than three months in I finally played a game that came out in 2015, hurray.

"Why did none of the January and February releases tickle your fancy, Gries?" you may wonder. Well, let's look at the current top 8:

    1) Majora's Mask is just a remake so it doesn't count because reasons
    2) Life is Strange: I don't buy unfinished games, will wait until all episodes are out
    3) Hotline Miami 2: played the first one for PS3 for 20 mins, hated it
    4) Dying Light: lol censorship. This game is banned in Germany.
    5) Kirby Wii U: lol Jurop. Game isn't out yet
    6) Bloodborne: I'm not a masochist.
    7) Saint's Row Gat out of Hell: it's just dlc, man. give me a proper Saint's Row 5.
    8) Cities Skylines: GOAT, 5/5, day one motherfuckers

No thanks... 3) I am clueless about that... 4) Looked in review so generic, wait it is banned here why? Who cares.... 5) As it is unreleased here.... 6) As i am no Dark Souls fan... 7) Never touched one of that franchise do not like action adventure games much. 8) Just fantastic, finally a good City management simulation game after a long time!
