I dunno about everyone else, but 2014 was my favorite year of the 2010s for music. Spoon showed off some new music after a four-year hiatus. Weezer released something new that I actually kind of enjoyed. Aphex Twin emerged from a cave to show that he was still relevant. And...Sia showed off her new wig gimmick? I like big wigs, I guess...

I'm sure I'll get criticised for this but Taylor Swift's album '1989' was the only album this year I genuinely enjoyed. I bought the CD and it's the only CD this year I've actively listened to. Everything else I bought for 1 or 2 tracks at most, and would have preferred a single (but no-where sells singles any more), with '1989' though I enjoy 10 out of 13 tracks with 4 of the tracks becoming some personal favourites. 2014 was a bad year for music.

.5: The Gray Chapter was a great album, and an impressive return for Slipknot. Unfortunately, nothing else really thrilled me this year. Even the return of Pink Floyd, one of my all-time favorite bands, didn't quite cut it.

Editing … Yeah, I wasn't much fan of Pink Floyd's new "album", but you have to have in mind that this "album" is actually a pack of noises they made while making an actual album joined together to make money. Yet, I still liked it more than the new Slipknot's new album, to be honest

Editing … And it's not even a Pink Floyd "album", more a David Gilmour solo album. I wasn't expecting it to be any cop, it's been 20 years since The Division Bell and over 40 since Dark Side of the Moon, it's not like they're suddenly going to release a masterpiece. As for Slipknot, I think the last time I listened to them (and liked them. Without being completely drunk.) was about fifteen years ago.

Editing … Oh. Pink Floyd released a new "album"? Hmm. I think I was paying more attention to Spoon and my other faves.

Editing … Yeah, it was a bunch of leftovers from The Division Bell that they decided to rearrange and release.

I dunno if I should rank Best Ofs in this, but #R-Kive's a fucking awesome Genesis compilation and it's easily my favorite music related thing to come out last year.
