Saved!KlemoibEditing … I think the sanctions are the worst idea of the decade next to lockdowns. It seems smart but the sanctions are not doing anything to stop the war. The only thing the west have done is fuck themselves over and hiked up the price for food for the rest of the (especially developing) world. We are helping to destroy what little is left of our world economy. A worse economy actually costs people healthy years of their lives. It’s no joke. These sanctions are only there to make people feel like they are doing something. But there are enough countries who want gas and oil. Russia can just sell to China and India. And even if they couldn’t, no way will Russia stop spending money on their war. They will cut costs in other areas way before that happens. Hurting the Russian economy will only hurt regular Russian civilians and ourselves. The poor will suffer more and more if this continues. Sanctions also increase the oil price. Russia only needs to sell half of their oil and gas to get the same amount of money and they get to keep more of their resources. It will take a long time before we get out of this economic crisis. Sanctions are always a very bad idea. It’s criminal imo. War is never about good guys vs bad guys. This is a very complicated affair that started more than 10 years ago.
