I didn't end up playing this one as much as I did 2 because I barely touched my Wii U, but I love the style of the Splatoon games so much, I feel like games back in the PS1 & 2 era had a kind of vibrancy to them that made them feel really alive and fun to play and over time games have completely lost that, even in more upbeat games there was just something missing, but Splatoon brought that feeling back in full and it was like games felt complete again. I didn't end up enjoying my time in the multiplayer in this one because it put you in games with Japanese players who were so ridiculously good you never stood a chance and would just die constantly before you could ever get good, but the single player was pretty dope, and honestly I mainly just love these games for their feels and their stylishness and music. Callie and Marie were one of the best things about the game, their presentation when you start the game up adds something to the game that I haven't really worked out, but it's a big plus. Gutted I missed all the splatfests in the first game though, I barley played it so I never thought to try them when they came around. I mostly base my score on this for how much I love the second game which I have played a lot of, because the two games are pretty much the same in terms of gameplay.
